With a full day planned at two eight two eight, a lively group from Horizons Retirement Village in Dubbo, set off in their cars and on a bus headed for Gulargambone.
They arrived around 10am, those with a heavier foot a little earlier, and were greeted by our volunteers, Cath Peart, Pauline Hammond, Alison Tancred, Grace Tancred, Grace Peart, and Angela and Greg O'Brien.
Coffee and scones were the order of the day, and then our guests were entertained by Angela O'Brien who gave a talk about the two eight two eight development project and then aired a video entitled "Our Story". This video depicts the work that went into creating two eight two eight from scratch.
Time for lunch, and Cath Peart prepared Thai Beef Salad and Chicken and Leek Pie. This was followed up with Coffee or Tea and a choice of Citrus Cheesecake Slice with strawberries and cream or Almond and Vanilla Frangipani Tart served with blueberries.
Whilst there our guests viewed the Outback Archies Exhibition and delighted in the variety of crafts and local goodies they could purchase.
A great day was had by all, and reluctantly our weary travellers headed for home.
