What a great way to end a day of polling booths and large white forms. A meal with friends, old and new, a few drinks topped off by an absolutely wonderful movie filled with fantastic music.
I don't think I was alone singing along with each song played. Heartwarming and heart-wrenching, uplifting and incredibly sad.
Thank you to everyone who assisted on the night, and a special thank you to Annette and Paul Fisher who were paramount in the success of the evening. Catering for 40 odd people is never easy, and our new lessee Amidia was very lucky to have their guidance and expertise.
A Sad Farewell to a Lovely Lady
It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to one of our members. Trudy James passed away suddenly late Friday evening leaving behind her husband Larrie James, and their three children, Brant, Brooke and Kelly.
Many of you met Trudy as she attended most of our movie nights. She was a bright and bubbly petite lady. Trudy was a great friend to me and she will be sadly missed by so many in our local community.
She was an active member of the Lions Club, running the chip or steak van, doing the Chocolate Wheel at the Pub or performing any other duties they allocated to her. She volunteered at the library and sold the raffle tickets at the Club on Friday nights.
Trudy only lived in town for just over two and half years, but she certainly made an impact.
May you Rest in Peace Trudy.
