Grant Millgate, one of our 2015 to 2016 School Based Trainees from Gulargambone Central School, has achieved unbelievable success by being a Finalist at the NSW Western 2017 Training Awards. There are over 13000 students enrolled in the Western District of NSW and from this immense group 35 Finalists were selected from 6 categories. The NSW Training Awards are a fantastic celebration and source of recognition for the outstanding effort that thousands of individuals, employers and training organisations put into VET each year in NSW.
The Awards night was held at the Orange Services Club, with over 260 people present for the evening. We were served a lovely two course meal and everyone was enjoying themselves. There were many guest speakers, including last year's young winner, and the evening was run with style and panache. Grant's support team at the awards night included his mum, Leah Millgate, Alfrene, Liana Leigo and her fellow teacher Sara, Colleen and Paul Ower.
We congratulate Grant on his success, and applaud the support the school and his hospitality teacher, Liana Leigo, have given both Grant and two eight two eight.
Well done, Grant. You are always a winner in our eyes.
